How Points Are Scored

Our point system is designed to reward comprehensive performance. Below is the complete breakdown, which is updated publicly whenever minor tweaks are made:

Batting Performance:
- Run Scoring: +1 point per run.
- Boundary Bonus: +2 points for a four, +3 points for a six.
- Strike Rate Bonus: +5 points if strike rate > 100 (min. 10 balls faced), –5 points if strike rate < 70 (min. 10 balls faced).
- Milestone Bonus: +10 points for a half-century (50+ runs), +20 points for a century (100+ runs).
Bowling Performance:
- Wickets Taken: +20 points per wicket.
- Maiden Over Bonus: +12 points per maiden over.
- Economy Rate Bonus: +6 points if economy < 4 in a T20 match (min. 2 overs), –6 points if economy > 9 (min. 2 overs).
Fielding Performance:
- Catch Taken: +8 points per catch.
- Stumping/Run-Out: +12 points per stumping or run-out affected.
Captain/VC Multipliers:
- Captain: 2× multiplier on all points contributed by that player.
- Vice-Captain: 1.5× multiplier on all points contributed by that player.

Note: Points are calculated in real-time via our data integration with official cricket scoring APIs. Any changes to the point structure will be clearly communicated via in-app notifications and our official blog at least 72 hours before implementation.

Contest Formats & Leaderboards

Glym offers multiple contest types to suit different preferences. Each contest type has its own leaderboards, prize tiers (virtual), and ranking criteria:

Daily Contests: Select your team before a single match’s toss, compete against thousands of users, and climb daily leaderboards. Top performers feature on the “Daily Champions” virtual wall on our homepage.
Weekly Leagues: Aggregate points across all matches played in a calendar week (Monday–Sunday). Leaderboard resets every Monday at 00:00 IST. Top 50 users gain “Weekly Legends” badges, displayed on user profiles for 7 days.
Head-to-Head Matches: Challenge a friend or random opponent to a one-on-one matchup. The user with more points at the end of the match wins the virtual trophy and temporary bragging rights badges.
Season Pass: Join the “Season Pass” to earn cumulative points throughout an entire series (e.g., IPL, T20 World Cup). At the end of the series, top 100 users receive a special “Season Master” badge valid until the next major series begins.

Leaderboard Display: Leaderboards update in near real-time (usually within 5–10 seconds of a scoring event). Users can filter leaderboards by region (e.g., state-level), age group (18–25, 26–35, 36+), and contest type. Historical leaderboards (past seasons) are archived for reference under “Past Tournaments” in the “Fantasy Cricket” dropdown menu.

Balance Your Squad: Select a mix of top-order batsmen, middle-order stabilizers, spinners, pace bowlers, and a wicketkeeper who regularly contributes catches or stumpings.
Monitor Team News: Stay updated on official team announcements—any injury or last-minute change in lineup can drastically affect point potential.
Use Captain/VC Strategically: Assign your captain to a player in form who bats high in the order or bowls multiple overs; the 2× multiplier can significantly boost your score.
Diversify Across Matches: If participating in the Season Pass or Weekly League, avoid picking the same core 11 every match. Rotate players based on matchups, pitch conditions, and recent performance.
